1996 Ford Explorer

by Adrienne_Smith on 10-20-2012
The Ford Explorer really isn't for everyone
My Mum has driven this car from New and has put in a pretty big coin in to keep it going. She was never a frequent driver so it really shouldn't have a lot of wear and tear on it. In fact, my 3 year old Honda CR-V has more mileage on it than her 16 year old car. Having said that, it's seriously falling apart. The wheels and brakes hesitate before doing what you want them to do, to the point of leaving butterflies in your stomach and making your heart stop for a sec. It's also not designed for anyone who is even slightly over weight with short legs. I have to squish against the steering wheel just to reach the brakes. Some might like this car, but I think for someone like me who wants the car to respond when I tell it to. No thanks.

1989 Ford Tempo

by Adrienne_Smith on 10-20-2012
Don't do the Ford Tempo
The old Ford Tempos are not reliable. This car we had to constantly baby just to keep it running. Changing it to neutral at each stop light. It was ugly, uncomfortable and if it hadn't been free would not have been worth the money. Actually, even when it was free, it wasn't worth the aggravation. Seriously. Walk away and head for a Honda store. At least even their clunkers will last a life time.

1990 Honda Civic

by Adrienne_Smith on 10-20-2012
Not the prettiest, but build like mini-tank on wheels.
This vehicle was the first car I ever purchased for myself. I got it at a steal for a couple grand and I must say that it was the most solid car I have ever driven (even with all of the newer vehicles I've owned since) The only reason I'm not still driving it now, is that I got slammed into by a tinfoil car at an intersection. She hit my driver's side while turning and I can tell you, I barely got a neck strain. While it might not be the prettiest car out there. For reliability, I would always go Honda. Always.

2005 Honda Civic

by Adrienne_Smith on 10-20-2012
Comfort and Reliability
The 2005 Black Honda Civic was the first new car I had ever driven. Nothing could compare to sitting in that car the first time. The comfort and reliability, the amazing gas mileage. everything was amazing with this car. Hardly anything ever went wrong with it. I think at one point, we had the tire sensor turn on prematurely, but the dealership fixed that with one visit. Great for tall and short people. Actually, better than the newer models when it comes to that. We've gone to a CR-V now because they changed the style of the new Civics and they no longer work for someone my husbands height. This car, however was perfect for both he and I. I would recommend this make and model to anyone who wanted something solid that would last forever.

2009 Honda CR-V

by Adrienne_Smith on 10-15-2012
Best Affordable Vehicle on the Road!
With a car that is shared between 2 drivers time sharing 1 vehicle, we have definitely put this car to the test when it comes to reliability and durability. Comfort is also really surprisingly good considering that 1 driver is over six feet tall and the other is just over 5 feet tall. I would recommend this car to anyone who needs a car that is good for multiple heights. Naturally, because it is an SUV, it is a little heavy on gas usage, but still with everything else going for it, this is a minor issue and I would definitely purchase this vehicle again.
