Buick Adds Avenir to LaCrosse

Buick is expanding their Avenir lineup, and this time it's a sedan that gets the luxury treatment. Buick launched the 2018 LaCrosse Avenir yesterday, adding unique styling and more features to the full-size sedan.

Buick vice president Duncan Aldred said that "nine out of 10 LaCrosse buyers are choosing one of the top two trim levels." That made it an easy choice to pick the LaCrosse as the second Avenir model.

On the outside, the LaCrosse Avenir gets details taken from the Enclave Avenir. Like the unique mesh upper and lower grille with chrome wings. That 3D mesh was originally featured on the Avista concept before appearing on the Enclave Avenir. The LaCrosse also gets 19-inch wheels in pearl nickel finish. Exclusive 20-inch silver wheels are an option.

Details inside include a chestnut colour scheme using higher grade leather for the upholstery. The seats have embroidered headrests and there are Avenir scripted door sill plates. The Avenir adds a panoramic moonroof and Bose Centerpoint premium audio system as standard equipment. An ebony interior option is also available.

The powertrain is the same as other top-trim LaCrosse models. It has a 3.6L V6 with a nine-speed automatic. The smooth running V6 offers 310 hp. Pick an Avenir and you can also pick Buick's twin-clutch all-wheel drive, and the Dynamic Drive real-time adaptive dampers. A suite of active safety features is also available.

The 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir will arrive at dealers early next year.
