New Heritage Options and Colours for Dodge Challenger

Dodge is giving the Challenger a Shakedown. The Challenger is getting a new option package with some heritage-inspired features and styling touches.

The Shakedown package is available on Challenger R/T and Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack cars with the Shaker hood. The package adds new asymmetrical racing stripes up the hood of the car and over the roof, bending around the opening for the Shaker hood scoop.

Inside, the Shakedown adds white-faced gauges to the instrument cluster, a look inspired by the 1971 Shakedown Challenger that was first shown at the SEMA show in 2016.

The cars also get a new Alpine audio system with nine speakers and a 506-watt amplifier.

The Shakedown package is available for $1,195 on the 5.7L 375 hp Challenger R/T Shaker. It's the same price on the 6.4L 485 hp Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker models.

Dodge is also adding two classic colours to all Charger and Challenger models for 2018. The automaker said that B5 Blue and Plum Crazy have been two of the most desired paint colours on the cars so they have brought them back. Its B5 Blue first appeared on a Dodge in 1969, with Plum Crazy arriving the next year.
