2001 Chevrolet Blazer

Trim: lt
by Mynameismudd on 11-26-2017
Great reliable SUV
My chevy blazer is a 2001 LT model and it is more than enough for a first owned vehicle. with it's 4 wheel drive you wont get stuck.
all leather seats for easy cleaning. sound system in it is very good . one issue is if your a big guy I could be a problem I am 6' 2" and I can sit up strait with about an inch of clearance while on the lowest setting for the electric seating. gas couldn't be better for a suv with 2 wheel drive for economy.
and just an FYI I own this vehicle now in 2017 so it is 16 years old and still in great shape (take care of it and it will take care of you).

2006 Chevrolet Blazer

Blazer lover
We sold our 1991 Blazer last year to a young man who absolutely loves. It was our first Blazer. Bought a 1996 Blazer in 2002. We now own a 2006 Trailblazer Ext version. Reliability an A+. Comfort A1. Cheap to repair when needed. Smoothest ride ever. Rides better than Cadillac. Strongly recommend Trailblazer 2006 Ext. It was Chevrolets last year for building Trailblazer Extended version.

2005 Chevrolet Blazer

Very reliable vehicle. Not as bad on gas as you would think.
We've owned Blazers for almost 30 years so the fuel economy is not something that we can compare to a car but we don't find our 2005 as hard on gas as some would think. Very comfortable to drive and has been reliable throughout the years. The body has also held up very well and still looks new for almost 10 year old vehicle. It seems a shame they are not being manufactured anymore.

It's a truck.
All I can say is that it's a truck...
What I mean by that is it's a real truck. Not a monocoque construction or a pretend SUV like a RAV4 or a CR-V (nothing against those vehicles) but it's an old-fashion body--on-frame construction.

It's built tough and heavy. It's meant to pull things and is often use as a service truck to plow snow. Outdoorsmen love this truck to go in the bush in hunting and fishing trips.
It drives like a small bus rather than a car!
Just being 100% honest!

All this to say that the ride is rough and the fuel economy is too when compared to a traditional family SUV to take the kids to soccer!....if that's what you're looking for.

But if you want something tough, maintenance free, cheap to repair that will not let you down and which will never get stuck in the snow and mud no matter what the weather, then this is the perfect truck for you.

I am the original owner of this vehicle. I purchased it as a commuter and have never had any mechanical problems. It has been serviced at Chevy dealers in both Calgary and Airdrie. It is a fun truck to drive and I have never been stuck in the snow or lost traction on ice. Even though it has a V6 it still has quite a bit of power. The only downside it that there is road noise from the beefy tires.

2005 Chevrolet Blazer

by jimmerkley on 08-09-2013
Typical chev product
Can be reliable with proper maintenance, though requires more than most sus's. Suited me at the time as it was cheap but other than that nothing spectacular. Poor fuel mileage even for an suv. Put 280000 kms on it and it broke down 8 times, everything from tranny and 4wd to computer. Even broke down 2 weeks after I bought it "brand new". The fuel pump failed. It's an okay choice if you don't drive much. Check out Jeep, Nissan, or Toyota if you want a reliable suv.

2000 Chevrolet Blazer

gas guzzeler
this car has many weaknesses and is absoulutly horrible on gas. I have a 2000 and even well taken care of will not pass an emissions test even before it became harder to do. the 4x4 works good on it but most times does not disengage and it cost a fortune to have it fixed every time I have to go in. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone trying to be economical or in need of something reliable.

Love this car. Hate to give it up.
I got this car in 2005 used with 19000 KM on it. 2013 it now has 87000. Not much driving at all and had no problems with it. The only things I had to do were the breaks. Would recommend highly.

Worth it long term
suspension not so great, engine is almost at 300,000 kms now. put about $1000 a year to keep it going but it lasts so it's worth it. cheaper than buying a new car. good for the winter.

Excellent Fuel Efficient 4X4
I have owned this vehicle for over 10 years and it continues to be an excellent off road, heavy hauling 4X4. I do alot of hunting and fishing and have never been stuck. My 3 brothers and I took it to the Grey Cup in Calgary and they all commented on how comfortably it rode and were very happy at their shared low cost of fuel expense. When cleaned, it is very attractive, having kept it's paint job briliantly over the years.

not too bad for an old girl
If a person with a family, living in a rural setting with lots of off road trips, the older blazers are great.I look at is as a disposable vehicle.Tons of leg room in the back for growing kids, love the hatch back feature too.Probably needs a good tune up and some other care.I find that the electric on the dash board is annoying because certain lights are onn all the time. But I guess that is only cosmetic.Rust is a bit of an issue as well, but what do you excpect from a 4x4 that ends up off road,as well as at the grocery store.

n ot bad for an old girl
She has some dints and rust,ut what do you excpect from a 4x4 that is over 20 years old.The sun roof is a good added feature.I love that she drives like a pick up and handels well.A bit of a gas guzzler ,but in a small rural town that is not to big of a problem.Lots ans lots of leg room in the back for growing kids is great.Probably needs another tune up but I do not want to do too much on a disposable 20 yr old 4x4.Over all, after this girls is done,I would purchase another, maybe a newer model though. It is great for all the off roads and for groceries too.
