Chevrolet Optra 2003-2009Change

Decent car for the price. Very solid body. Its a 2004 and barely have any rust on car. Some issue with wheel bearings needing a change every 4-6 months. Other than that, nothing major to repair in all those years.

I purchase my Optra second hand. Car actually made by Daewoo in Korea. Has no transmission dip stick or way to add fluid, easily. Mechanics (other than dealer) practically shudder at the thought of working on them.

The check engine light remains on and appears to be because of the gas cap (that works on a type of vacuum seal) that does not screw on as most do.

Wish I had done more research before purchasing it. So far so good, gets me where I want to go, but always breathe a sigh of relief when I reach my destination.

In hot weather, the oil light starts flickering while stopped in idling position at stop lights. Place it in neutral and it goes out. Oil level and pressures are fine.

This car has never let me down. Through the worst snow, rain, and fog, this car keeps going. The 4 cylinder engine surprisingly has a great deal of power. Other than an oil change every so often,this car never requires anything. Owned since 20,000km, at 75,000 now. Still going strong.

I have driven it for 5 years now from 110 to 160K km. Always starts. The price is unbelievably low for a reasonably gutsy car. A lot of cargo space in a wagon version, good no-nonsense styling, practical railings. Had some quirks, like rusted fuel tank opening lever, or rear windshield wiper died, but hey, it carries ppl and stuff for cheap. Changed oil and tires, and belt, that's it. Guys at oil change places tell me: this is a very clear oil, are you sure you want to change it? Well, after 6-8K I do no matter what.

We bought this car from the Orignal Owner;(she wanted a Mid-size SUV). We were looking for a vehicle to use as an extra car. The features listed were an added bonus. It has been very reliable and economical also.

Great car good on fuel and reliability, not too comfortable but is ok for the price of the car.

great on exterior style and interior desing of a car that is 7 years old it looks good and his performance is very good.

I had used it for more than 3 years, Never had any breakdown, Drove to US many times.
Great on Gas and very comfortable. Only minor issue is some indicators malfunction

I did have to update some parts but nothing major and I expected it when I bought a used car. Worth what I paid for it. It was reliable and I would definitely would buy it again.

I have owned this car for years and an quite satisfied with it. i have had a few problems with it but not any more than any other car I have owned.

Newer winter tires. excellent fuel economy. roomy for smaller car. this car is mostly highway driven most of its life. never smoked in.

Excellent. Car has been well-maintained, runs well, is comfortable and has plenty of cargo space. No worries with this car - it has been a problem-free vehicle. .

I have a few problems with this car, mostly externally. The inside is nice and the car is mostly reliable. It takes a while for the car to warm up ( i live in canada) so that tends to be a issue. For overall space, this car is small. has 5 seats but tends to get cramed if you have 5 people, and not prefered if you have luggage. The interior is ok, nothing great or exciting. overall this car is works well but is small in space.

I bought my 2004 optra 2 years ago and thought i got a good deal on it. It had just had a bunch of work done so I planned on at least a year without and major problems. Within 3 months i replaced wheel bearing and all brakes. Two months later a tie rod end and sensor. Then 2 more months and had to replace, timing chain, have the heads done and basically redo the whole engine. You get what you pay for that is for sure! So don't think you are getting a great deal because of a low price because a low price is all they are worth. To answer my own question, No i would not ever buy this car again!

not impress with it, winter driving is bad with this car too small and back seat seat belt are not easy to reach with a car or booster seat

Purchased this car 4 years ago and love it. It's compact but roomy and when the seats fold down. The cargo room is impressive. This car has excellent get up and go. Light to light, it doesn't impress however highway speeds and passing. Well that's impressive. I've had many people ask what I have under the hood, they seem so disappointed to see a 4 cyl and not some v6 or turbo. The car handles like a dream, now I have low profile 15 inch tires and quality tires not all seasons. The car seems to run better on 89 octane vs 87. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. It starts every time and if maintained properly. Runs like a dream. I have over 200 thousand kilometers and going strong.

I have owned this car for about 5 years now and it have been very relaiable with extreamly low maintenance.
Its a great little 4 cylinder car great for the commuter

This was my very first car and I have to say its been pretty reliable other than a dead battery. Look of the car is conservative but a bit dull. the mileage is okay and could be better. Overall, an average car with satisfactory perforamance and bargin price.

Cheap feel to everything in the vehicle. Rough ride and lots of road noise. Did not enjoy having this vehicle.

I have owned this car since it was new and have had no major issues with it. It is very economical and is comfortable to drive. Some parts can be a bit tricky to come by due to the fact that the car is no longer manufactured and was only in production for a short time. I like my Optra.

This car has been performing consistently since I bought it 5 yrs. ago. It handles fine, nothing to complain about.

bought the car 1 year old,,ran awesome,,owned it for 5 years and very rarely had a problem with it,,,was hard on brakes tho,,,but other than that was a great car to own

I bought this vehicle used, but not with a lot of km's. After purchasing I noticed several things that were not working or not working properly. At first I chalked it up to it being used, but after getting online I noticed many people with the same make were having difficulties. For example, the clock doesn't always work, the highbeams won't stay on, and the hood won't pop properly.
The gas milaeage is okay, it's not horrible but definitely not as good as other cars in the same category as this one.
It's comfortable, reliable,decent trunk space, and not tiny which is great because it fits 2 convertible car seats. Passenger can sit comfortably with a rear facing car seat behind them.
Overall it's okay, gets me where I need to go and I don't mind driving it.
