Scion Shows Final tC, Release Series 10.0

Scion has announced that they will be showing their final new model at the New York International Auto Show next week, the tC Release Series 10.0. The car will get a Japanese-market-inspired body kit designed by Kei Miura that includes side skirts, front and rear lip spoilers, and a rear trunk spoiler.  The Release Series 10.0 will come only in Barcelona Red with contrasting black alloy wheels and black Scion badging.

Also included will be Toyota Racing Development (TRD) lowering springs and TRD dual exhaust. Inside there will be black sport seats with red accent stitching. The accent stitching will also be featured on the shift book, hand brake cover, and steering wheel. The RS 10.0 will have special floor and cargo mats, and a numbered badge to mark the car’s position in the 1200 Scion is building.

It’s fitting that they are unveiling the last Scion in the same place the brand began. The division of Toyota was announced at the New York auto show in March of 2002, where they revealed plans for a youth brand and displayed concepts which later became the xB and the tC.

The RS 10.0 will be available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission matched with the standard tC’s 180 hp 2.5L 4-cylinder.  It should be available at dealers in June. Canadian pricing is yet to be released.
