Four Audi models are set to be featured in the upcoming Marvel film Captain America: Civil War. Three of these are unsurprising: the all-new R8 V10 will play a role, as will the 2017 A4 and A7 Sportback.
But what's interesting is seeing the brand new SQ7 on the list as well. In a North American film? Does this mean we might have a hope of seeing the SQ7 in our showrooms?
With high-powered SUVs like the Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee and Porsche Cayenne Turbo S cropping up more frequently, maybe we'll get lucky this time around. On the other hand, it's powered by a VW Group diesel engine, which is likely to cause a delay at minimum. If it does ever launch here, it will give North Americans access to the most powerful diesel SUV on the market, capable of making 435 hp and 663.8 lb-ft of torque via its world-first 4.0 TDI engine paired with an electric compressor.
The SQ7 will be the whip of Captain America himself, played by Chris Evans, while antagonist Iron Man, played by Robert Downey, Jr., stays behind the wheel of his trademark R8, though this time it's the new 2017 R8 V10 plus Coupe.
The film hits theatres on May 6th. As a teaser, Marvel has released an exclusive digital video directed by the film's directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, called "The Chase":
