Ford Recalls Fusion Models to Fix Melting Headlights

More than 1,000 Ford Fusion sedans sold as 2017 models are under recall to fix headlight assemblies that could melt.

Ford and Transport Canada say some of the cars were built with faulty headlight support brackets that can allow the daytime running light to shift out of position and potentially melt the support bracket. The melted plastic could block the main headlight and reduce nighttime lighting performance and lead to the car failing to meet Canada's Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for lighting.

Ford dealers will replace both headlight assemblies with redesigned parts.
