Jaguar today gave customers across the country their first look at the XE compact sedan as dealers hosted events to display the cars and announce pricing of the new vehicle. The XE, Jaguar's first compact sedan since 2009, will be available as XE 20d and 35t in Premium, Prestige and R-Sport trims starting at $45,000. The 20d offers a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 180 hp. The 35t is a 3.0L gas V6 with a supercharger helping to make 340 hp.
All XE models come with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The XE 20d Premium offers alloys, leather seats, a rear-view camera, hill hold, automatic wipers, dual-zone climate, and an eight-inch touchscreen with an 11-speaker Meridian stereo. Options include a cold climate pack with heated windshield, washer jets, front seats, and steering wheel ($1,000), and a vision pack with bi-xenon headlights, auto high beam, blind spot monitor and parking aids ($2,300). The XE 20d Prestige ($49,500) adds upgraded leather seats, heated seats and steering wheel, navigation and mood lighting. The $2,300 vision pack is available, as is a $2,000 comfort and convenience pack with ventilated front and heated rear seats and an electric rear sunshade.
XE 20d R-sport ($54,000) gets sport seats, an R-Sport body kit, adaptive headlights, lane guidance, blind spot monitor, satellite radio, and automatic emergency braking. Options on R-Sport include a black trim pack, the convenience pack, and a $2,600 tech pack that adds an enhanced nav system, 825-watt Meridian surround sound system, and Pro Services, which includes a route planner sharable ETA, traffic monitoring, and street-view 360-degree photos of your destination.
The XE 35t is available in the same Premium, Prestige, and R-Sport trims, with the price rising by $3,500. The XE is on sale now at Jaguar dealers.
