Chevrolet Recalls Cop Cars Prone to Fire

We know first responders like cops and fire fighters routinely work together in the aftermath of a crime or serious accident, but a Chevrolet has recalled some examples of its 2010-2014 Tahoe SUV so police officers won't need to call the fire department themselves.

Chevy is recalling more than 1,800 Tahoes sold into police and government fleets between 2010 and 2014 to fix radiator fans that could catch fire.

In these trucks, Transport Canada says water may get into the motor for the passenger-side cooling fan, causing wiring to corrode and elevated temperatures that could cause an underhood fire.

Chevrolet is instructing its dealers to replace the fan motor and fan shroud, as well as extending the wiring and re-orienting the fan motor to make it less susceptible to water intrusion.
