A flashy Nissan sport sedan concept helped show off the new Vmotion 2.0 design language that will start appearing on upcoming Nissan vehicles, including the Nissan Qashqai that launches this spring in Canada, and was unveiled here at the Detroit auto show as the Rogue Sport.
With clamshell style doors that open up to a natural wood-laden interior, the aggressively futuristic Vmotion 2.0 concept is also mean to highlight the brand’s Intelligent Mobility functions that it hopes will one day lead the company to zero emissions, and zero fatalities, a common theme expressed by Toyota the previous day as well.
Nissan’s design chief Shiro Nakamura said that Nissan’s ProPilot technology will offer “full steering control” by 2020, one of the first companies to declare a hard date for its autonomous technology, without specifying which functions will be available in their ProPilot 3.0 software by then.
