Alfa Romeo Debuts Stelvio SUV Lineup

Alfa Romeo is debuting the 2018 Stelvio SUV at the New York auto show next week. We have the photos and details of the gorgeous SUV that brings up to 505 hp and wonderfully Italian styling to market later this year.

The Stelvio is Alfa's new compact luxury crossover, slotting in at about the same size as the 2017 Porsche Macan. The volume trims are the base Stelvio and the Ti. Those models come with all-wheel drive and a 2.0L turbo-four. That engine has Fiat's MultiAir variable valve lift system and direct injection and can deliver 280 hp and 306 lb-ft of torque. Alfa says that engine, combined with an eight-speed automatic, can hit 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds.

Both trims will come with leather seating, a flat-bottom steering wheel, xenon headlights, and a power liftgate as standard. They'll also have a 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. They will have a sport package available that adds 19-inch wheels over the 18-inch wheels on base trim and 20-inch ones to Ti as well as 12-way adjustable sport seats, paddle shifters, a sports steering wheel, and gloss trim. The Stelvio has a driver-adjustable handling mode system that can choose settings for efficiency or performance.

Ti models can add a Luxury package that adds Pieno Fiore leather, with 12-way adjustable seats, leather wrapped dash and door trim, and real wood trim.

The big one is the Stelvio Quadrifoglio. That one gets the 2.9L twin-turbo V6 from the 2017 Giulia that delivers 505 hp, 443 lb-ft of torques and a 0-100 km/h time estimated to be just under 4.0 seconds. That model has a high-performance suspension, torque-vectoring rear differential, and a 320 km/h speedometer. If you want to make it even quicker, carbon fiber shell seats are available, along with Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes.

The new Stelvio will arrive at dealers later this year with pricing expected closer to the on-sale date.
