The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is an SUV that comes with a massive engine, massive power, and massive acceleration. And a price tag of $109,995.
The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the Hellcat Jeep. It has Dodge's supercharged 6.2L V8 that makes 707 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque. That massive power, combined with all-wheel drive, means 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and an 11.6-second quarter mile.
Sending that power to the road is an upgraded Torqueflite eight-speed automatic that gets beefed up to handle all that torque. The all-wheel drive system is Jeep's Quadra-Trac on demand system with an active transfer case and electronic limited-slip rear differential. But there isn't a low range in the transfer case on this one.
It has launch control to make maximum use of the traction from the 295/45R20 Pirelli P Zero tires. There are also modes for Sport, Track, Snow, and Tow.
That's right, Tow. The 707 hp Grand Cherokee Trackhawk can tow up to 3,266 kg. So you can use your Trackhawk to tow your Demon to the track. Send both down the drag strip and your combined 1/4 mile time should be 21 seconds. Which is about the same as a Mitsubishi i-Miev can run by itself.
To help put the track in Trackhawk, the quickest Grand Cherokee gets a new Bilstein adaptive suspension that is 25mm lower than regular models. It also has new Brembo brakes that are the largest front brakes ever installed on a Jeep.
Styling touches include heat extractors on the hood, special wheels, and the front bumper drops the fog lights in favour of letting more air in to keep everything cool.
Inside it has carbon and black chrome trim, Uconnect 4C with an 8.4-inch screen and Performance Pages info displays. There are special seats with Trackhawk embroidery, and the unique instrument cluster has a massive tachometer front and centre.
The Trackhawk will arrive at dealers in the fourth quarter of this year.
