Buick Prices Refreshed Envision Crossover From $39,995

The refreshed 2019 Buick Envision luxury crossover will carry an MSRP of $39,995 when it arrives in dealerships this spring, according to General Motors.

That's $200 less than the outgoing 2018 model, despite a raft of what Buick calls "customer driven" updates.

Buick has revised this crossover's styling for 2019, but there are more notable changes under the sheet metal.

Models with the 2.0L turbo four-cylinder gain 35 lb-ft of torque for a new total of 295; horsepower remains the same, at 252. That engine also comes matched with GM's nine-speed automatic transmission. Buick says the extra power and new transmission combine to cut nearly half a second off the Envision's 0-100 km/h acceleration time, but doesn't say what the new elapsed time is.

The other powertrain-related change is a deactivation switch for the engine start/stop system, a Buick first in North America.

Safety enhancements start with a new brake booster that reduces pedal effort. There's also a better back-up camera that transmits a clearer image to the in-dash display screen, and the Envision now lets the driver choose between adaptive and conventional cruise control. HID headlights are standard in the entry-level model, while 2.0L turbo trims get LED headlights.

Inside, new seat heaters warm up more quickly than before, and a new-generation wireless charging is compatible with the iPhone 8 and iPhone X.

A 2.5L engine (197 hp/192 lb-ft) is unchanged in entry-level trims and once again comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. All Envision models in Canada are AWD.
