2019 Acura RDX Gets 2.0L Turbo and 10 Speed Auto

Acura has given us our first look at the production version of its all-new RDX compact crossover, a 2019 model set to be revealed at the New York auto show.

This latest teaser follows January's Detroit auto show premiere of the RDX prototype which, in typical Honda style, was essentially a production-ready example meant to demonstrate how the upscale utility had adopted the brand's latest styling language.

The new photo is of the A-Spec variant, marking the first time the RDX will be offered in that high-performance guise previously reserved for Acura's sedan models.

Acura also calls the new RDX the brand's most extensive redesign in more than a decade, thanks to its use of a new 2.0L turbocharged engine, a 10-speed transmission and the return of the torque-vectoring SH-AWD system to this model. Other updated design elements include a new infotainment system and NSX-inspired handling aids that Acura says will make this the best-handling RDX ever.

The 2019 Acura RDX gets its global debut on March 28, with a plan to reach dealerships around the middle of 2018.
