Jaguar Land Rover Adds CarPlay, Android Auto

Jaguar Land Rover is the latest automaker to get in on the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto action, adding the smartphone integration platforms as standard equipment in the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace and as an option in some of the brands' other 2019 models.

CarPlay and Android Auto come bundled in a new Smartphone Pack that is a $300 option available in most models with the Jaguar Land Rover InControl Touch Pro and Touch Pro Duo infotainment systems.

The new package lets a driver use apps like Spotify, WhatsApp and Waze through the car's touchscreen interface; certain functions can be controlled via the vehicle's voice control system.

The Smartphone Pack is one of a handful of changes the British automaker has made to its infotainment suite, which also adds voice control for navigation functions, refreshed graphics, new shortcut buttons on the home screen and other minor user experience improvements.
