2022 Buick Enclave Gets New Styling and More Standard Tech

For 2022, Buick is giving the three-row Enclave SUV a refresh. On the outside, the model gets a more prominent grille and thinner accent lights as well as similar changes to the rear. On the inside, Buick has removed the traditional gearshift lever, replaced the steering wheel, and has made many of its driver assistance features standard on base Essence trim.

It's not hard to notice the larger grille that now extends far into the lower half of the bumper, made even more apparent in the Avenir trim as shown, where the space is filled with the dark mesh that is the signature of the Avenir line. New headlights move the actual lamps midway down the bumper, with the thin lights at the corners just an accent lamp. The 2022 Enclave is the first Buick model to wear that low-headlamp look.

The 2022 Buick Enclave gets a new rear bumper and LED taillamps, with new wheels completing the cosmetic changes.

Inside, Buick has dropped the old gear selector for the brand's newer electronic selector, a move that frees up space in the centre console and can help make a vehicle feel roomier. The steering wheel has been replaced with one giving the Enclave a more modern look, while new soft-touch materials improve cabin feel and the Avenir trim adds new diamond perforations to a new light-colour seat and trim option.

Driver Confidence Plus, a package that features automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, blind spot alert, front and rear parking sensors, and other popular driver assistance features, is now standard across the board. Last year it was on Premium and Avenir only. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have gained wireless connections for pairing your phone without a cord.

No word on pricing yet, so expect that closer to the vehicle arriving at dealers later this year.
