The popular Kia Telluride has received a mild refresh for the 2023 model year, which brings revised exterior styling to the family-friendly SUV and introduces a new off-road-ready X-Pro trim level.
The 2023 Kia Telluride features a new vertically oriented LED headlamp design, different LED taillamps, new front and rear bumpers and a different grille with the latest iteration of Kia’s logo front and centre. It will also bring new wheel designs for every trim level, along with three new exterior colours called Midnight Lake Blue, Dawning Red, and Jungle Wood Green.
Customers seeking a more rugged exterior appearance can opt for the new Telluride X-Line and X-Pro trim levels, which bring off-road-inspired exterior equipment to the full-size SUV. All X-Line models will feature a unique grille design, 20-inch wheels, roof rails, body colour door handles, X-Line exterior badging, a 10-mm higher ground clearance and a revised traction control system. The X-Pro features the same equipment but trades the 20-inch wheels for a set of smaller 18-inch off-road wheels with knobby off-road Continental tires, which can be seen in the image below.
The 2023 Kia Telluride remains largely unchanged from the inside, although some new tech has been added, including an upgraded 12.3-inch navigation display (replacing the old 10.3-inch display), an optional digital rearview mirror and a power liftgate with auto-close functionality. There are also some new standard active safety features, including Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, which can recognize traffic signs and alert the driver of the posted speed limit, and forward collision avoidance.
The Korean SUV’s powertrain remains unchanged for the 2023 model year, with the 3.8-litre V6 engine continuing with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to a standard all-wheel-drive system.
Kia has not said when the 2023 Telluride will go on sale in Canada, although we expect it to begin arriving at dealerships here late this year. Pricing details will be shared closer to its official launch.
