1990 Honda Accord

Trim: LX
by Scolirk on 03-27-2013
90's Charm Beats Modern Cars Anyday
I bought my 90 Accord about 6 months ago and could not be happier. This 23 year old car has been solid every single day I've driven it, and doesn't ask for much in return. I paid $2,000 for this car certified and e-tested, and have only needed to replace the timing belt/water pump and regular oil changes. No major issues at all. I'm at 228,000km now which is very low for it's age.

As far as mileage goes though, the car gets roughly 10L per 100KM highway, so around 650km to a tank. It's a bit low, and definitely requires more trips to the pump than some other vehicles in it's age group, but it definitely makes up for this elsewhere.

My LX model is the base for the Canadian market, so now power windows/doors/sunroof. It's a bit annoying from time to time, but it means less mechanical things can break down.

Honestly I have a lot of fun driving this car, and would definitely buy another one with more options if I could down the road. I think the Honda Accord (CB7) is one of the best Accords Honda ever produced.

1990 Honda Accord

Trim: EX

Feels good, fuel efficient and fun to drive
I've owned more than 35 cars in my 20+ years of driving and I continue to be impressed with Accords.
They just feel good. They are decent in power, economy and super reliable.
The last one I had was a 1992 and I had it until the odometer was beyond 600,000 kms.
The interior comfort is good, the layout of all the controls is excellent--everything is right where you'd expect it to be.
As a daily driver, this car can't be beat. A little preventative maintenance goes a long way. Also, the car is dead simple to work on (except for swapping the alternator GRRR) and parts are plentiful and not expensive.
I hope to have this car for five more years, then I will replace it with another 15-20 year old Accord.

1990 Honda Accord

by jeffeh on 12-01-2012
Honda Awesome!
This is my seventh Honda Accord. Except for the 1980 model I owned, all the Accords have been between 1990-1993 model years. They have all been awesome! I owned a 92 Accord EX and I bought it with high mileage (373 K). 6 yrs later, it had 602,000 kms on it but.... sadly, I got rearended and was forced to scrap it.
I am totally in love with the Accord of this vintage. It's got the three "F's" I look for in a car. 1) Fuel efficiency (even though modern cars get better economy now). 2) Feels good. ie. The steering, the ride, the overall experience. 3) Fun to drive. Reliable, just plain fun!
This 1990 model that I'm driving now has ONLY 227,000 kms. It's like brand new!
