2002 Acura TL

by JP_Zhu on 10-22-2012
Acura TL 2002 Type S
The car was a pretty good entry level luxury car derived from the Honda Accord. The interior was nicely finished, the 260-hp V6 served up good acceleration, and the ride was OK. Handling was mundane, though, with pronounced body roll and it had a somewhat jittery highway ride. The steering is a little vague, the rear is cramped, and road noise intrudes on an otherwise quiet cabin.

The big problem is reliability - it failed to stop when backing from parking lot in low speed for 5-6 times in my one-year of ownership.

2011 Subaru Tribeca

by JP_Zhu on 10-22-2012
Subaru Tribeca 2011
My Tribeca has an impressive ride and handling balance. The 256-hp, 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine and five-speed automatic transmission make a decent powertrain. However, gas consumption is merely 16 L/100KM overall for 1 year of ownership. Handling is quite agile, with nice steering feel and restrained body lean. The ride is supple and very well controlled. Fit and finish is very good, but the second- and third-row seats are cramped. It's a long reach to the navigation system's touch screen. The styling of the dashboard makes some controls difficult to see.

2002 BMW 3 Series

Trim: 325XI

My 2002 BMW 325 XI
My 2002 BMW 325 XI is an AWD and is excelled in handling and braking. The powertrains are smooth and strong but fuel economy is bad - I just got 14.5L/100KM . The automatic transmission is smooth and handling is taut and agile, with good steering feel.

Interior and exterior design is cool but trunk capacity is modest as batteries and CD-exchangers are all within the trunk, so you cannot put things like skis in the trunk.
