Acura Ludacris Legend: Hitting the SEMA Like It's 1993

Acura's theme for the 2015 SEMA show has a retro flavour to it. Between the very sexy-looking NSX supercar and the two modified 2016 Acura ILX on display, there's a blast from the past that will send you back to a time where boy-bands, hair scrunchies and Internet Explorer were a thing.

The centerpiece to Acura's stand is an "all-new" 1993 Acura Legend, owned by famous-rapper-recently-turned-actor Chris "Ludacris" Bridges.  The luxury sub-brand has taken the term "mods" to a whole different level by updating  the 22 year-old sedan, featured on the cover of the rapper's most recent album, Ludaversal.

The two-month long restoration project breathed some life back into the outdated sedan.

The Ludacris Legend received a fresh new custom coat of paint in Warm Cashmere with Ice Pearl, a new set of 18-inch Rays wheels fitted with Bridgestone Potenza high-performance rubber, six-piston caliper brakes at the front and four-piston calipers at the back, as well as a lowered suspension with H&R springs and an Eibach camber kit.

On the inside, a Pioneer AVIC 8/ONEX sound system, with Apple CarPlay  and two Alpine Type-12  subwoofers, makes sure the rapper gets to blast his singles wherever he goes. The intention behind the upgrade was to celebrate Acura owners' loyalty and reassert the manufacturer's passion for performance.

The 1993 Ludacris Legend is one of four Acuras currently on display at the 2015 SEMA, alongside a Nouvelle Blue Pearl NSX,  a Galpin 2016 ILX and a 2016 ILX with the Acura Genuine Accessory Package.
