All-New 2018 GMC Terrain Starts at $30,195

General Motors has released pricing for their all-new 2018 GMC Terrain SUV. The redesigned and restyled SUV will start at $30,195 plus $1,700 freight when it arrives at dealers this summer.

The new Terrain gets a new platform, along with new styling that GMC says is the new look for the brand. Out is the boxy styling of old, in are swooping lines and curves. The new signature is the wishbone shaped running lights. The Terrain also gets blacked-out trim on the door pillars to give a "floating roof" appearance. The new SUV is much smaller than the outgoing model as well, which should help on the scale and improve efficiency.

The Terrain will be available with a trio of turbocharged powertrains, including a 170 hp 1.5L four and a 1.6L diesel. The only one available at launch will be a 2.0L four that makes 252 hp. All get a nine-speed automatic. The engines are shared with the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, but the GMC gets a nine-speed for the 1.5 and 1.6L engines where the Equinox makes do with just six-speeds. Front and all-wheel drive will be available, as is GM's Traction Select controllable drive modes.

The launch trims will be SLE, SLT, and top-trip Denali. All get OnStar with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Denali will add 19-inch wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, navigation, and Bose stereo. Active safety equipment on Denali will include blind spot and lane change alerts, rear cross traffic and parking assist, and a safety alert seat that vibrates to tell you when something is wrong.
