Ram Offering 1500 Sport Trim Only in Canada

Ram unveiled a new trim level for the newest version of its 1500 pickup at the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto. The monochromatic 2019 Ram 1500 Sport is only offered in Canada.

The current generation Ram 1500 offers a Sport trim level that sits in the middle of the lineup. It's the most popular trim that Ram offers in Canada, so it makes sense that they're offering it on the new truck. "We sold over 100,000 Ram products in Canada last year and we pride ourselves on knowing our customers and listening to their needs. That’s why the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 Sport is being built exclusively for the Canadian market and why we are confident our truck owners will embrace the unique style and capability it offers," said FCA Canada President and CEO Reid Bigland.

The 2019 Ram 1500 Sport gets a monochromatic exterior treatment. Offered in nine colours, the Sport gets the bumpers, mirrors, and grille accents in body-colour. The normally chrome badges and grille are black, and the LED headlight surrounds have dark bezels. A sport hood with black vents is available for drivers who want a more aggressive look.

The Sport is offered in Quad and Crew cabs, with two and four-wheel drive available. All Sport trim trucks get a 5.7L Hemi V8 with 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The 20-inch black painted wheels are standard, with 22-inch Black Noise alloys offered for the first time on a four-wheel drive model.

Inside, the all-black theme continues. The Sport has unique cloth and vinyl seats with a special hex mesh insert. The seats are heated, and ventilated leather seats are optional. The leather chairs have a special embossing that is also Canada-only. There are satin black chrome highlights, real metal trim, and a diamond plate look centre stack borrowed from the Ram Rebel. The upper glovebox lid wears a Sport badge.

Other standard features include Ram's 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, as well as power-adjustable pedals, a heated steering wheel, and a 7.0-inch configurable dashboard display with a special Sport logo splash screen. An Advanced Safety Group package that adds adaptive cruise control, collision warning and braking, lane departure warnings, and parking assist is optional.

The 2019 Ram 1500 Sport arrives in the second quarter of this year, with pricing and fuel economy to be announced closer to the truck arriving at dealers.
