BMW 3 Series 2009Change

2009 model purchased CPO from a BMW dealer in 2011 with 31000km. Review written in 2017 at 150000km.

I was nervous about the luxury German reliability stories…Thankfully my experience is only partly true. Purchased the extended RFT warranty and had to use it with a defective tire within the first 20000km.

The RWD experience is as fun as advertised. The 230hp is modest compared to many modern sport compacts and sedans out there but the refinement, transmission and power delivery are among the best in the industry – Same can be said for cabin comfort and refinement. No issues from 2 adults in the rear seat for space. Trunk also generous for the vehicle class. Winter driving not the best, but manageable – I will avoid RWD until I start shopping for a car exclusively for fun. Interior is “Spartan”, but functional. BMW iDrive (in this 2009 model) was overall well executed. Exterior design still quite sharp after 8 years IMO.

Dealer warranty wasn’t always the most pleasant – You will likely be nickled and dimed and denied full repair at first assessment. But if you have tact, you can get them to fully honor the written agreement. Wear and tear maintenance is pricey and required more frequently than mainstream brands, but I think the trade-off is worth it. The biggest blemish on this experience was an alternator that required replacement at 70000km. It required 3 dealer trips and some pushback, but I got it covered under warranty (was told that it would have been an $1800 fix). Also, both tail lamps required replacement inside of 100000km ($350 each), some intermittent single stereo speaker cutout noted around 90000km, non-functioning AC at 140000km (low cost band aid fix).

Bottom line: High price, high expectations, and after 6 years and 120000km of ownership, I am very satisfied with the experience.

These cars are super quick and when model can easily keep up to $100000 sport cars. I would only buy the xdrive. The rear wheel drive is a little too torquey in winter driving. Good on fuel when driven lightly.

This car is lady driven with very low kms. Excellent ride and in mint condition. I think the buyer of this car will be very satisfied with the handling and comfort of when driving. It has all the bells and whistles with 350 hp

I have enjoyed the smoothest and most comfortable ride so far. Never had a maintenance issue. Just basic maintenance like oil change and you are good to go. The on board computer prompts you for tire pressures, fluid changes and safety related info. I never had to remember or check when was something due on this car. I am changing it with another BMW.

This car is in amazing condition and runs great. There have been no problems with it, probably because I've treated it like my baby taking it in to get serviced regularly.

I had 2009 for 2 year i had to changed ABS wheel speed sensor+module radio light problem water pump wheel bearing that's the problem you will always face with 323i,
323i the worth to have. 325+ way better

7 years ago I took possession of my first BMW (a 335i xDrive), after having driven an Acura MDX for 6+ years prior to the BMW and a Dodge Grand Caravan for 10+ years prior to the Acura MDX and Toyota Supra prior to that!

So it was time for me to get back into a sports car (sedan) that still had enough room for a family of four but allowed me to let the horses running wild when I drove it alone!

Other than a few minor issues this car has been an absolute delight to own and more importantly to drive!

The dual turbo six cylinder 300 horsepower hugs the road exceptionally well and the Sport steering is extremely responsive yet very firm, as one would expect.

It was armed with all the bells & whistles available back in 2009, although not up to par in comparison to 2016 standards.

It's the best bmw I ever hade .....nice looking exterior and interior as well ... Best handling on the road and curbs ... The 335xi is amazing in winter conditions .. Reliab and great fuel economy for engine like 335 with 300 house power

Excellent vehicle for toting kids/dogs. Superbly reliable. With top rated winter tires, can get through deep snow with Xdrive. Heated seats and steering keep you toasty. NAV, Bluetooth, everything you need. BMW cup holders aren't super well placed but minor issue. Super handling and BMW breaking can't be beaten.

Excellent car for the city or highway. Great pick up and reasonable city fuel performance. AWD means you feel very comfortable regardless of conditions, even though the car is smallish. Add top rated winter tires and this vehicle can make it though just about anything. I have never gotten stuck even though our street is the last to be plower in the city! Lots of room for groceries, kids and dogs.

The experince with this car has been amazing. The only reason i am selling is because i am planning to buy a house. The car is robust, also amazing in winter and great fuel consumption.

Good balance between performance and comfort. Couldn't be happier. Very good control on the road thanks to the xdrive AWD system which is a must for Canadian winters.

Class ride with excellent control. The BMW is stylish and drives well on highway and in the city. Good acceleration.

There is no car on the road drives like a BMW 335ix for the money. The BMW 335ix is a sporting car that looks great and can be driven every day all year round. Whether you want a car that is quick off the line or provides the security to pass when you are doing 100 kph already the 335ix is a dream to drive.

I had a 2009 323i and loved it! gas milage is pretty good although premium fuel is mandatory. acceleration on highway is fantastic. smooth ride once run-flat tires are swapped out.

Great handling & a smooth ride makes it feel like you are driving a brand new car off the lot, Rain sensing vipers is the greatest invention ever and the bright head lights make it an ideal night time driving vehicle.Dual climate control takes the hassle out of others complaining about too hot or too cold and fold up cup holders in the back makes long trips very comfortable. with all the comforts you would expect in a luxury vehicle and the reliability of German engineering makes this car an ideal long term investment and a joy to own.

No problems. Fun car to drive. It is very difficult for me to part with this vehicle that I bought as a retirement gift to myself.

this car has had no problems and you can check with north shore auto to get records. the "M" wheels give it a fantastic sports car ride.

It took me some time to find a car with everything I wanted. It took me about 6 months looking at almost every brand of car. After countless test drives and research I found this beauty. I am sad to see it go but because I am moving to the UK I must sell it. I will buy this same car in the UK.
The ride is smooth and it handles like a dream. I can not put into words how well this car performs. You must test drive one. BMW in my opinion is one of the best built vehicles on the road and this 335D is a beast. After driving this car I would never choose anything else.

Comfortable, responsive, an animal on a rain wet track and an outstanding all around automobile. As the saying goes: When you turn on your car, does it return the favor? A resounding yes!
