Always been a pleasure to drive
I've had my mazda3 for 6 years now, it's been a reliable commuting car during that time. I recommended the mazda to all my friends and most of them have purchased one.

Great first car!
My first car, never had any major issues with it. Just normal wear and tear.

Good on gas, fun to drive and shows well!

2006 Mazda Mazda3

Reliable Commuter
Over the 6 years I've owned this car, I have had few problems with it. It handles extremely well and no major repairs have been necessary. The interior feels more upscale than the price would suggest and, except for some of the radio controls, is ergonomically exceptional.
Pros:
Reliability
Handling
Cons:
Some rust
Poorer-than-advertised fuel economy

Great for this class
Had this car for about two years and still love it. Only major repair was the front struts for about 900 at 150,000 km. Engine still runs perfect as well as everything else in the car

Great but Squeaky!
Bought this car used around 70K and fell in love with it. Smooth ride, gears shifted seamlessly (mine was manual), quick pickup, and the storage in the back with the hatch folded down was a lot more spacious than one would think in a hatchback. It was great on gas and all maintenance was relatively cheap. I had no significant problems with the car. What I did not like about this car was after it hit about 115K it began to rattle from the inside. The plastic pieces from the dash to the doors would creak non-stop. I’d keep turning up the radio to drown out the sounds because they would get very irritating. Tried every trick in the book to get the creaks to stop – but nothing would work. Aside from that problem, it was a great car and as long as you dont mind a squeaky interior - you'll love the car!

Great Car!
The Mazda 3 is a great car. It looks sporty and handle very well. There is a lot of room inside the car for a compact sedan. The only issues I have so far are the air conditioner and the driver side automatic window. I used to own a Honda Civic, but now I am also a fan of the Mazda3.

2006 Mazda Mazda3

Trim: MAZDA3 SPORT GT
by Ian_Mac on 10-11-2012
Reliable yet unremarkable
Bought this car because I was new to Canada (from the UK) and needed something reliable and economic yet had some style about it.

Well, the car is certainly reliable, no problems so far despite having over 150K on the clock, and when I serviced it the garage said it was in good shape, so Mazda seem to have built this car to last.

The style of the GT is quite nice with a spoiler and different rims to the regular Mazda3, but all in all it's a little unremarkable but a good decent car that won't let you down and achieves good MPG.
